Assignment:

Students will document a single location or event in one day, practicing observation and non-intervention while producing a clear visual narrative. Photos must be taken within a single day with no staging, directing, or posing subjects. Natural light is preferred, crop and edit as needed, and maintain consistency in light and shadow throughout the book by setting light and shadow points using curves. 

Deliverables:

• One black and white image photo essay

• 8-12 black and white images
